Website update

The Last few days I have been working more on the website that will feature the short film. Below are some more screen shots of how the website looks and is coming together. The empty grey area to the right of the menu is where the content in the website will sit. The menu on the left is made up using JavaScript image rollovers.

The New Idea

Over the past few days I have been looking at a variety of different films. adverts and music videos to see how they have been edited and also filmed from a narrative point of view. After adding the memory/flashback idea into my project I also began to think that when you dream or flashback to something you never see it perfectly clear as there are loads of different memories and images in your head. I want to encorporate this into my film by overlaying different short clips over the top of one another. An example of this can be seen below in a recent music video that my friends band has released.

Here is some test footage edited together to get a feel of what the 70's section of the film will look like without the effects.

Website Screen Grabs

After creating the initial designs and ideas for the website I began to create a mockup site using HTML/CSS. Below is what I have done so far and shows the splash page where the user will first be directed and the page which the user then follows onto after the film has been watched.

Website

Mock Ideas have been drawn up for the website in the project. The spider diagram below shows the initial ideas and concepts.

After creating the ideas and concepts I decided to to create a mock up in HTML/CSS to get a feel of what the website could/would look like when it had been completed. Below are screengrabs of what I have completed so far.

New Idea

As I have been working on the storyboards and test shots of my project I came across an idea that I thought would benefit the film and make tying each section of it together. As the original idea had four different era's with the style/effect on each it would make blending the four sections together very harshly and would not very proffesional. I found this out through my test shots. Below is a spider diagram of the new idea which I am incorporating into the project.

**UPDATE**

Nothing has been posted to the blog for a while now, this is due to work being handwritten and drawn as I am completing the storyboard and initial ideas section for the short film and the website. The storyboards and initial ideas will be uploaded to the blog when they have all been scanned in to the computer.
